BGE Rib Save!

Greetings friends..

we had friends in for the fourth yesterday. Fireworks. Ribs and smoked Mac and cheese on the PELLET grill… drinks…. What could be easier and more relaxing?

and then the pellet grill controller took a dump and decided to either not feed at all, or load the firebox so full the thing caught on fire. Huge disaster. Dramatic. And we were about to eat cheese and crackers.

So I lit two of the BGEs and got them working.

Four racks went in one, and two Mac and cheeses into the other. Saved the show.

The Eggs really are easy and reliable for me at this point - I just need a bigger capacity to really feed a party like we do.

Anyway. Pics follow. Happy fourth everybody!

Manual (aka BGE) as a skilled backup plan is always comforting to have available.  Great save!  Sweet results.

Awesome, Damien. Low tech is the best tech.

Very cool that your wife digs plugs! Will serve her well over the years.

Guy who works for me had his pellet stove die - some sensor or such. after a year of waiting for warrantee coverage he bought the part on amazon and was back in business. I had many egg cooks in those months.

I had to scroll back lol

I used to work in  live music and carry eargasms on my keychain. We have plugs in both vehicles in case she or anyone needs. I couldn’t think about leaving home without them.

That’s a great container for them. I had some custom made years back for playing music and would take them with me whenever loud sound exposure was anticipated. Also had some off-the-shelf ones laying around for my wife. There have definitely been times where I didn’t have them with me and wish I did.

Yoder finally came back from vacation and it is warrantying the entire electronics. I’ll have to switch it all out, but the hope is that’ll solve the myriad of issues.

So. The next step is rigging the OLD FireBoard controller to a fan/probe setup and build it into one of my tables for a BGE ;)

Great save. Glad it worked out, especially with the extra stress involved.
