With Independence Day approaching what is your favorite brand of Hot dog? Is your preference a traditional grilled dog or a frank using a steaming basket?
This is my absolute favorite, steamed and served with a good quality mustard

The best hot dogs come from these when you are drunk at the golf course. The bun warmer is the key.

Ooof. That’s like picking the last hotdog on the rollers at the gas station.
preferred hotdog is Nathan’s, Hebrew Nationals or Kirkland 1/4# beef franks. -
A college housemate of mine worked at a certain meat processing plant. So no hotdogs.
-
Jumbo Nathan’s or Hebrew

Someone here in the biz said to only eat Kirkland all beef, and I’ve stuck to that advice, since.I kinda wanna know WHY, though…Large BGE and Medium BGE

We get the Kirkland or we don’t usually eat hot dogs. I’ve been enjoying eating my way through a package.XL BGE

My favorite is the Kirkland bratwurst -- eat 'em all the time.
For traditional "hot dogs" it's always Nathan's all beef.Cincinnati, Ohio. Large BGE since 2011. Still learning. -
I don't profess to be a hot dog connoisseur but I've tried all of the aforementioned national brands and plenty in-between as well. None of them hold a candle to those made by a company called Wimmer's which has been in business since 1934. These are fully cooked natural casing weiners made of coarse ground pork and beef which give them a rich delicious taste. Since 2012 Wimmer's has been owned by Land O'Frost which gives them a wider distribution here in the mid west. https://www.landofrost.com/where-to-buy/Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

Wimmers purchased Fairbury Meats before being snatched up by Land O'Frost. If you see these in your area they are worth a try. Not as good as when they were made in Fairbury, NE though . . .

It's a dog eat dog life we are in! 🌭Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

Just as a reminder though - natural casings franks are more costly to make, but the ~snap~ makes it worth it as the flavorful juices stay inside!Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time
