Somehow this same philosophy is not one we apply to doctors.Ozzie_Isaac said:We want teachers who do it because they love it, not for the pay. Low pay is a feature.
Teachers are generally underpaid in this country. We’ve seen several great ones leave our public schools in NC because they couldn’t afford to start a family. That’s a problem.

You are a superstar at what you do. Do you hide behind unions, are your students the best they can be because of you. Any one that went to school knows that most teachers are sub par. 😁JohnInCarolina said:

Good education doesn't require good parenting, but the odds go way up when parents/family are part of the equation. There is so much more to this than just the teacher.fishlessman said:

And I'll add, killing things like school lunch programs, anything that is supportive to students especially when their family isn't or can't be, that's moving us in the wrong direction, not just teacher salaries.THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER

All in for lunches, add breakfast....parents need do do better, but teachers need to at least be held accountable thru there students test scoresLegume said:And I'll add, killing things like school lunch programs, anything that is supportive to students especially when their family isn't or can't be, that's moving us in the wrong direction, not just teacher salaries.fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it -

Perhaps it would help if we… paid them a bit more? So the young and talented ones earned enough to afford to stay in the profession? I’m just spitballing here…fishlessman said:
