Nope. Just lower sales, so we all lose. :(alaskanassasin said:I hope you’re getting the spread @stlcharcoal
That couldn't have happened because I now know what number it got swapped with. It wasn't anything random, just the website deleting the "add to cart to see final price" option and sending the $39.95 price down to the stores. Good news.......there is a sale coming up, so hopefully if this hasn't been fixed across all the stores, that sale will zap away any of those remaining erroneous shelf tags.dbCooper said:Why do these errors seem to most times run the against the consumer? $19.99 a bag would have been a nicer gesture from the system.
Thanks everybody for their patience. -
good call on academy Double but not stocked in the ones near me.
just grabbed a bag of rockwood at chamblee ace for $29.99. -

Up here we have SCOP. So hypothetically if shelf tag says 29.99 and the cash register scans at 39.99, you can get it for 19.99 if the merchant participates in this voluntary programme.canuckland -
31.99 on the shelf locally.

Sounds dumb and I would never voluntarily participate in that......legally a price tag is nothing more than an "invitation to negotiate". If it's wrong--high or low--that doesn't mean the merchant has to sell it at that price. Mistakes are made, price corrections happen before and after the sale, there's no reason to punish the merchant for it (which in this case is the store owner is the one that would bear the punishment when that pricing error came from Corporate.)Canugghead said:

AFAIK small business owners do not participate, all participants are major grocery or big box chains, not sure what cost sharing arrangement is in place.stlcharcoal said:

It provides consumers with a recourse when a scanned price is higher than the displayed or advertised price of an item.

Website shows $39 but adjusts to $29 when I put in the cart. Up slightly from the last year or two, but I can live with that.Stillwater, MN

Unfortunately, I've still got one bag of Rockwood left. Don't care for all the small bits, which it mostly is. I have no idea why it's so popular here. But I also have a bag of Fogo, which I much prefer, so not all is lost.Somewhere on the Colorado Front Range

I bought a pallet some years ago, and by last year, the price was about 2x what I had paid 😀#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.

I bought it about 3 weeks ago in Naples, it said 39.95 on the site and it was 29.99 when I put it in the cart less a 5$ couponIn the bush just East of Cambridge,Ontario

Funny enough - I get nostalgic for the old school pallet drop pick up parties. Made some lifelong friends back then. And Jonathan is included in that - he always thought outside the box and even came to NC to support Butt Blast, as did yourself.caliking said:I bought a pallet some years ago, and by last year, the price was about 2x what I had paid 😀

Good evening gents - it's been forever since I've been here. Glad to be back. Still enjoying my XL BGE from 2012 and the memories and meals it's cooked for people...and God Bless @RRP for still being here and doing the Lord's work...
It's the same thing here in Northern Virginia - our local ACE has Rockwood at 39.99 but if you add it to your cart online, it becomes $31.99. I've loved Rockwood forever, largely thanks to this site and what a cool dude @stlcharcoal is, so it was surprising to see the problems and ballooning prices. I bought so much during those epic group buys years ago that I still have one or two bags left in my shed. Those were salad days, friends, and those who were part of it can remember just how cool it was...
Anyway, just thought I'd report in on our little slice of the Rockwood/ACE story...Manning our FOB in occupied Northern Virginia... -
The sale for Ace Rewards member just started......so hopefully that fixes any of the stragglers still out there. Hope no one paid too much, but now is your chance to fix that!

Interesting results here. I went to my local ACE web site and searched for rockwood and it found nothing.

I just tried it. I am on acehardware.com.dannys said:Interesting results here. I went to my local ACE web site and searched for rockwood and it found nothing.
Searched "Rockwood"
It was the first result.
It was advertised at 39.99 (See actual price in cart).
Added to cart
Cart price showed 31.99.
I then signed in with my ace rewards and the price updated to 26.99.
Edit to add free delivery on orders over $50.
6 bags coming next week.

I just buy it. Jonathon makes a great product I use exclusively and have done so for years, always providing great food with zero issues.Consistently a good product, and I have easily used over 100 bags, so I think I have an adequate perspective.I appreciate him stepping up, and rectifying the issue with ACE."Knowledge is Good" - Emil Faber

Just to update with my experience at an Ace in Minnesota. I picked up four bags on Friday for $96 thanks to the $5 off per bag (usually pay $29 before tax) offered to Ace Rewards members. I would have grabbed a few more if I had the space.Stillwater, MN
