Place to put in your 2024 decorations! This should be fun

i get given so much food and treats for Christmas that by the time I finish them all it will be Easter and I will have the same shape as an egg. Rather fitting I think.

Stage 1 initiated. Delivered this morning. Gonna give it a few hours to thaw and let those branches come to a resting position.

Stage 2 complete. Lights are up and the tree and I are both enjoying a drink.We ordered up the snow especially for this afternoon.

heh, the most important tool for decorating - shop vac! I like your stand, we have one from the same company but an earlier variation. a good stand is gold. Do you close the vent by the tree to prevent it from drying out?~~

I spent 5 hours at home planing all this and making the fake bow and then 3 hours today actually decorating my wife's door. Those are the battery operated fairy lights and the ribbon is 6" satin red. Unfortunately two psychos in the facility will probably have destroyed it by morning but at least I know I tried...

@GrateEggspectations - Nice looking Singer treadle sewing machine and cabinet. My egging neighbor refurbishes the machines for family and friends. He recently purchased a small sand blaster cabinet and has all the pieces of his next effort down to bare metal. Waiting for the current cold snap down here to paint the exterior parts, add the decals, clear coat, and reassemble. Looks like he found a niche market for retirement income.Ubi panis, ibi patria.

my neighbour across the street. He does similar for Halloween. The picture didn't quite get the 10' tall Santa and Rudolph clinking beer mugs to the left, but you can make out the 18' tall storm trooper to the right. The whole thing is synced to music you can pick up on the car radio. Proceeds this year to Parkinson's.

Thank you, friend. And great display by your neighbour for a great cause. Can only imagine a resident or someone within their circle must have been diagnosed. My F-I-L was diagnosed a few years back. Explained a lot of his issues with stiffness and balance prior to being aware of his condition. Meds have nearly eliminated all tremors. -

well, this spring we found a solution for a blank spot of wall that needed some 3-D art as a painting or print would be lost. it's 18' high at the top of the wall and no way to look directly at it unless you can hover or brought a ladder. found these funky (and local!) fire escapes. So of course I had to decorate them this year.
