Anyone plan on cooking anything for National Night Out tomorrow? Looking for some ideas.

Have to admit that I had to google "National Night Out" - I'd never heard of this.

Sounds like it could be a lot of fun if you live in a neighborhood that really gets into it.

As for suggestions, I saw this from Matty Matheson a while ago and damn they look good:

It's a good opportunity to get together with the neighbors and have a bite to eat. Your neighborhood can kind of make it what you want of it. My neighborhood is pretty low key. Our neighborhood is on the shape of a horseshoe. So it's a quiet neighborhood where we don't have to worry about much. We pull out tables and chairs on the street and usually have a couple grills going.

My parents neighborhood will shut down their culdesac and meet there. The towns police and firefighters will make an appearance for the kids. The firefighters will crack open a fire hydrant and pump water through one of their pumper trucks where kids can run through the sprinkler.

It's not for everyone but I find it beneficial and enjoy seeing the neighbors that you might have a conversation with on an average day.

    The egg rolls look fantastic!

In Texas they move that to October... but my neighborhood does almost nothing.   Halloween is more people outside.

Not quite in Austin, TX City Limits
Just Vote- What if you could choose "none of the above" on an election ballot? Millions of Americans do just that, in effect, by not voting.  The result in 2016: "Nobody" won more counties, more states, and more electoral votes than either candidate for president.

Hey WeberWho! National Night Out is a great excuse to fire up the grill! I was thinking of doing some burgers, dogs, and maybe some grilled veggies.

We used to grill about 800 hot dogs for NNO!  It was a big event in the neighborhood of our church. The church provided the dogs. There was face painters and all kinds of carnival type stuff going on. The cake walk.... Plus lots of local companies setting up booths to get to know the neighbors.  Enjoy your time!
