Built myself a cedar egg table... new home for the Eggs

I picked up a Minimax a couple of months ago and got tired of running out of space with the egg mates on my large. Decided to make a new home for both Eggs.
Riffed on the plans posted on the BGE site, but made my table 6' to give a little extra space. All cedar build. All in all, not so bad for $250 in materials and an afternoon's worth of work.

Looks very well built. I like the pocket hole joinery.

Thanks! Good question. I’m thinking I’m just going to leave it and let the cedar do its thing… but open to recommendations and experience here.loco_engr said:Great looking table . . . excellently done!

I think something that nice, for me personally, would get a natural Danish oil finish. It dries fairly fast and really enhances the beauty of the wood.divided_wood said:

Thanks for the rec, Epcot. I have heard a few folks recommend boiled linseed oil as well. Mostly I want to avoid something high-maintenance. Sounds like I should check out an oiled finish as I’ve also heard they’re fairly easy to maintain.

Great job! You’re going to love the extra working space.

Great skill set, project and finished project. There are marine finishes out there that may be worth considering.
Paging @nolaegghead as I recall he (and perhaps others) have offered suggestions.
Regardless, enjoy as I know you will.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint. -
