HF used to give those scissors away in the good old days when they had "free stuff" promotional coupons. I think I have like 10 pair. They're great for cutting stuff that would ruin your nice scissors, like fiberglass soaking in uncured polyester or epoxy resin (hint - throw the damn things away when done).

Same here. Almost the only thing I ever use it for is to spatchcock a chicken, but they have never disappointed me.1voyager said:I have the Wusthof 2-piece kitchen shears. This should clean up my scissor drawer. thanks.On a side note, I had a good size chip in my shun chefs knife. I thought, well I will mail it back and get a factory edge, plus they can fix the chip. A month later I get it back, the chip was gone but it was not very sharp, I had a ripe tomato rolling around on the cutting board. I tried a sawing motion. Finally I had to stab it with the tip to get slicing. Disappointing but I will get it sharp.South of Columbus, Ohio. -
I had a knife blade that had cracked on me. It wasn't an expensive knife, but I liked it for certain tasks, so I wanted to save it. I worked that crack out on my WorkSharp E5 belt sharpener. I am glad I spent the time as that knife has never been so sharp and seems to hold an edge better now than when it was new. We have a set of OXO shears. They're super functional with large comfortable grips and they stay sharp. They also come apart for cleaning too.
