    This tip stuff is wild.   Restaurants, at least in TX, can pay less than minimum wage because servers are expected to receive tips.    That to me is fine, refill my tea, water, bring more drinks, etc.

    Now when it comes to other groups like fast food, etc heck no.   

    I recently went to a mom & pop doughnut shop for the kids.   They make the doughnuts there, put them behind the glass counter, put them in a box and ring you up.    They had multiple options for tipping:   glass jar clearly labeled "Tips" and then their POS system makes you select a tip (you can choose 0%) before moving onto the final check out.

    Why would I give a doughnut shop a tip?   I bought a product from them.   I didn't tip at Ace Hardware earlier today when I bought a product from them.

    Agreed, but the beauty of the labor pool at that level was that there was always another crop coming in. The problem I see is that there is no new crop. It’s like this generation has unionized without actually forming a union. They demand higher pay and won’t take any job without it. Problem for business owners is that they aren’t wrong and there’s enough of them holding out to make it happen.

     I’m starting em $3/hr higher than I was and have given all of my current employees raises to offset what we had to do to get people in the door. We spend almost more time with our employees than we do with our families. These people are like our family. I know their spouses and kids and what’s going on in their lives. The last thing we need is an unhappy crew.

    Sure, Amazon employs over a million in their logistics operations.  Restaurants employ over 11 million.  Significant numbers.

    im waiting for the cheery xmas card from the postman working for his tip, im the last box on the street and i get to deliver the mail back down the street that he dumps in my box.  says 41 on the box, not 38,36, etc.  i started writing wrong address on them and left the red pen in the back of the box, he stole the pen

    I started writing return to sender, not at this address on the envelope. It’s not rocket science, 3402, then 3404, then3406 and they should all have the same street name on them.

    We have a great relationship with all our postal workers.  It's called being nice to them.  They go out of their way to give us good service and we go out of our way to make their jobs easier and more pleasant.
