How Can I Follow Ron (RRP)?

I went to tell something to Ron by PM and then saw I could follow him by clicking on his box. Here is a screen shot of that
But when I click on the follow it tells me I can't do it. But Ron has 85 followers, which seems like a lot. How can I follow Ron? Is this like one of those Scientology cult things where I have to electrocute myself first?

Ron I see that you have not responded to my question on your wall. But then it looks like there's lots of people you haven't responded to there, and some of them want gaskets. And then others you have responded to them and I think you have scared them away.
