No not yet, I do low and slow I never do high heat cooks on either of my bbqs. If I do decide to do a high heat cook I will defiantly be looking out for my siding.fishlessman said:Mr1egg said:
The two grills are positioned closer to the front of that table and pretty much the same distance apart from side to side. I’m actually having a rib bbq today and will be using both grills so I’ll feel how hot the siding gets today during the 3-2-1 method. Also the location of these grills are in a relatively high wind area. I measured yesterday and it was 10 inches away from the siding.RRP said:
I’ll have to look back to find the thread. But a long time egger here shared his pictures of his plastic siding and plastic window frames all melted from “mere heat” cooking bacon! He and his wife thankfully escaped DEATH. Why not spin that table 180 degrees?Mr1egg said:I would say 6-8 inches away. I don’t ever do an heat cooks so I’m not to worried about the vinyl, but we’ll see.
have you experienced a flashback yet with the egg, it will instantly melt the front of your jacket and may be enough to buckle the siding
ive had a fire on the deck from an egg once, got lucky that it went out on its own but it did burn thru 2 inch thick pine boards underneath and came close to tipping over. a deflector would not hurt til you are comfortable and you need something under the egg, mine burnt thru sitting on those feet like yours is setup and it was during a long low and slow.
fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it -
this was the two inch thick table. you can see where the three feet were positioned. fire burnt straight down landing in a metal pan, im not usually that lucky. you want to put something non burnable under the feet

I’ve actually seen this picture and was thinking about putting the ceramic bricks I have under the egg which would move it up 2 inches from the wood.fishlessman said:this was the two inch thick table. you can see where the three feet were positioned. fire burnt straight down landing in a metal pan, im not usually that lucky. you want to put something non burnable under the feet

I just remembered…it was egger “old Dave”. That man has been a legend and SO helpful to so many on the pro BBQ competition circuit.RRP said:
