Hey Lurkers!

I think a lot of posters, frequent (like stike who says he has a real job but doesn't go to work anymore) and infrequent, like me (who pretend we're busy), spend a lot of time just reading and lurking on this board. I'm really curious about how many lurkers are out there. If that's you, post a short hello and maybe let us know what you find interesting here. If this is a dead thread, I'll know that I have violated some Lurker's Code. But otherwise, are any of you ready to show yourselves?[p]Paul

  • Essex County,
I'm here everyday but don't post very often. Been egging for about 3 years. Not real proficient at it yet. Would like to egg more but time constraints limit that. I do enjoy reading and looking at what everyone else is doing with the egg.

    Essex County,
I am definately a lurker and only post occasionally but read every day. Shoot I even lurked at Eggtoberfest and just walked around putting faces to the names i see everyday and of course stuffing my face with some great food.

  • Essex County,[p]Longtime lurker ~ don't post because I'm not an egger. I scan this board daily, to look at the food photography.

    Essex County,
I am not really a lurker, but not an active poster either. I stop in from time time and occasionally see something where I can add my two cents.[p]I am not sure how many ever go over and read the BGE forum from the .net side, but they keep track of how many people are on line and when I just looked it was over 4800. That is a whole lot more than the names I routinely see on this forum.[p]

  • But I play one on tv.
  • Essex County,[p]I lurk, therefore I am.[p]Been egging about 4 years. Was a semi-active poster for a while but started feeling guilty posting all questions and few answers. Learn a TON on this site and enjoy seeing what people are doing. I check it a few times a day. Love cooking on the Egg and like to think I've gotten pretty good at it. [p]Oh, I've also converted 2 buddies - one bought a large and the other an XL.[p]Back to the cover of darkness![p]Jonathan
  • Essex County,
I lurk daily but also only post occasionally. I have gotten so many recipes and ideas from all the regular posters that I can't describe how benificial this forum is. Thank you, thankyou, thankyou everyone. Bucky

  • Essex County,[p]I suppose I'm a semi-lurker. Most of the time someone has a quicker or better response to whatever I might post, so I stay pretty quiet.
You'll find I'm not so reticent in person![p]Joe

  • Essex County,[p]For the past 8 months I've found the forum and archives to be invaluable in learning how to cook on the egg - as well as discovering Dr. BBQ's books and Dizzy Pig's rubs, and perhaps soon, obtaining a new knife or lodge pan, or two. I certainly appreciate the opportunity to listen in on the eggsperts and to be inspired by all these great photographs to cook outdoors, even in this awful weather (Northern VT, where the windsheers hit 40 mph recently). Thanks to all the posters who taught me how to make spectacular ribs!

    Essex County,
Frequent lurker, infrequent poster (mainly because someone else has already answered my questions). Haven't gotten around to posting pics yet...

  • Essex County,
I guess I fall on the I am always working lurker category. My egg is the product of a broken top and a broken bottom. My dad had his whole egg replaced so I had a good top. ANd the same in reverse for the other egg. So I have a large 16 ft trailer with A stainless steel milk tank as my cooker. I compete in the mid atlantic states. This is where i met Chris capell, Brett and some of the other Va eggers. So I come to this site to figure out how to not burn my pizzas. (Naked Whiz great info by the way) and how to tweak the egg for one brisket cooks instead of using my big rig which can hold 50 briskets. I am currently on vacation driving across country with another Chef friend of mine and my BGE large. Cooking for family and friends. The Greenbrier (West Virginia) where i work as the catering chef is closed for renovations. I also assit in the BBQ university program at the hotel where a get to use the eggs and teach guests on how to use them. I think they are the best but for someone who loves to grill and smoke with out cluttering up your back yard. ( i currently have 5 grills and the 16ft smoker!!) So I guess that is a very very long response hope you enjoyed. Ken Hess AKA Hoss from Hoss's BBQ &catering Co.

  • Essex County,
I think that I am a part time lurker.[p]I read almost every post and respond

Essex County,[p]I am guilty about being a lurker. I visit this forum several times a day to see all the great advice and pictures here. It is a great community with many caring people. I do not have an egg, but I want one. This is my first post.
