Fired up for 2021

Beautiful weather in the NE yesterday, rolled our BGE out of the shed for this first time this year.  We are usually south for the Winter, but COVID restrictions kept us home this year.  Threw on some ribeye’s, reverse sear, they were amazing dusted with a Texas Roadhouse clone rub.  That and a little Ardbeg 10 year old to watch the festivities.  This event added a little sense of normality to our lives again.

I get asked that quite often, on other boards, I like trains, but my handle comes from “The Doobie Bros”, song “Long Train Running. Played guitar in a band for years, that was one of our tunes in the early 70’s, seems like a million years ago now.

Nice start to the grilling season.

    How did they turn out?

XXL BGE, Karebecue, Klose BYC, Chargiller Akorn Kamado, Weber Smokey Mountain, Grand Turbo gasser, Weber Smoky Joe, and the wheelbarrow that my grandfather used to cook steaks from his cattle

We’re going to need a pic of that.  Played in a band in the 70’s, that qualifies as picture mandatory.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER

You wouldn't recognize me, where all that hair went is still a mystery. Someone in the family found a copy if our newspaper engagement photo, circa 1974 and stuck it on the refrigerator.  The five year old grandson, asked who that was, when told, he exclaimed, “Pop, was that a wig you're wearing?”  Good thing he’s a cute kid.

The steaks were great, medium rare, I’ll need to do it again.  Photos next time.
