Just put a wood cart together for a customer yesterday; very nice! What is the best solution to keep embers off the wood in front of the bottom opening? Anybody have a great idea/solution...thanks!

I assume you have the table nest on there? Usually a big floor tile is good for reflecting the heat and protecting the wood. If you have to cut it/them to length, just put the cut side to the back.
Last week somebody showed me a pic of a burned up table from a FB group......guy had a table nest but it still lit off near the dome. In the comments there was a goof ball saying "get rid of the table next and use a paver.......it absorbs the heat better." WTF?!?!?! Yes, that's exactly the problem, they are a conductor, not an insulator. Anymore, I wouldn't put them in a wood table at all. -
I was concerned about the same issue. My solution is effective but ugly. I slid a fairly flat aluminum tray under the front legs of the nest (by the vent opening) and let it extend out beyond the edge of the wood.
No wood burning but it’s not the most attractive solution.New Orleans LA -

In cooking, often we implement steps for which we have no explanations other than ‘that’s what everybody else does’ or ‘that’s what I have been told.’ Dare to think for yourself.
