Napoleon Prestige Pro 665 for me. I love it. I do my quick bbqs on that, and low and slow on the green egg.
Thanks! That thing looks awesome, but I believe it’s overkill for the occasional burger or hot dog.

I have a gas grill. It has it's place on a cold dark night, the ease of putting dinner on the table in short order is hard to beat.
Do your nights vary in darkness quite a bit?
They do indeed vary in length.

That is a target I will let pass.   =)

Get her whatever it takes to make her happy. I am a big fan of the Weber’s. I’ve had various second hand genesis grills and those things are awesome.

I have my cooking arsenal at my Mom's house. The old gasser gave out last year and I did without. But she wanted something easy to operate. I decided on a Cuisinart Twin Oaks set up which has a pellet grill and a 3 burner gas grill plus a side burner and a griddle top for the gas side all inclusive. $600 or so and it is a device easy to operate for her and more real estate when I am there cooking for a crowd.

As I don't have AC so the gasser is a saviour when it does gets hot. I have a Lodge cast iron griddle for when I  want to blacken. Double side burner allows me to cook what ever I want outside when I want to. Bottom line is gassers do have their place. Mine is  a Fire Magic. Had it it for 25 years.

I have a Weber Genesis and it's a great gasser that I use a fair amount. It has some limitations, but for quick weeknight cooks it's a great sidekick to a BGE.

Haha, you're right about overkill for a hot dog! Definitely need to be used for more ... like:

    - rotisserie chickens ... with the built in smoke box (and fact that you don't want to over-smoke chickens) it makes for a perfect method to get the cook right! And it's easy, good temperature control.
    - after a low and slow ... and then with most meals you wrap in foil at some stage ... move it to the gas grill.  The temperature control to finish the cook is far better than on the egg.
    - after a low and slow with unwrapped meats (like rib eye) and want to sear (even the final sear for chickens, ribs, etc) ... crank up the gas grill and sear for 1 minute each side ... better than cranking up the green egg and waiting for it to get to 600F ... and burning all that charcoal for a few minutes of searing!
    - use searing side station which runs at 1200F to sear your thick cut steaks, then move to the egg to cook slower and get some smoke into it.
    - lastly if the egg is occupied with a low and slow and you don't want to disrupt that ... the gas grill comes in very handy to feed the younguns!

My wife made the same request so I bought one large enough to hold all my accessories. Every once and a while I use it to spin a chicken, that is useful

Every once in a while, I miss my Weber Genesis I left behind in my divorce.  I'm better because I left it behind and picked up a Weber kettle to replace it, but I do miss it.

I sometimes go to tvwbb and look at Weber Genesis restoration porn.

Oh the flavor bars....  And my cast iron grates...

What's in the tool box? I keep a few tools in the house because Anne want's to be able to get at them, but never ever uses them. Tools are wasted on wives.

Nah, she uses them but struggles to put them away. She does not get access
to my Snap on tools. I lost a bet once that she could not replace the bent prop shaft on the Master Craft. Took her half a day and cost me a Cartier watch.

I have the smaller, and less expensive, Weber Spirit.  It's a two burner that can get very hot. Cooking grid is more than adequate for any thing I want to do fast.  Home Depot has several exclusive Weber models for $425-$475.  I've had mine for 7 years with no issues.  Weber is quality!

Question for you @Webass :  my last Weber also had two burners, but the cooking grid was very rectangular, and the burners ran the long way (lengthwise).  I couldn't have separate hot/cool zones, unless I was cooking rattlesnake.  Is the Spirit also set up that way?

Why is this thread still active? The woman is willing to cook. She wants a gasser. Webers are good. Buy one.
