Thinking of a neighborhood BBQ

tentative plan, subject to change:

Neighborhood BBQ

pulled pork (3/4 Cup)

Jack Stack BBQ Beans & Brisket (1/2 cup)

Bacon wrapped pickled watermelon rinds (3-4)

Pineapple Gems (3-4)

Reser’s Potato Salad (1/4 C)

pre-packaged in ziplock bags

bagged in brown paper school lunch bags

grab & go

prob 22-25 people

think I'll need 2 pork butts for that many folks?

Yes on the pork butts.  Most people recommend about 2/3 pound of precooked meat per person.

XXL BGE, Karebecue, Chargiller Akorn Kamado, Weber Smokey Mountain, Grand Turbo gasser, Weber Smoky Joe, and the wheelbarrow that my grandfather used to cook steaks from his cattle

My math on the pulled pork is... Multiple the raw weight by 2.4. that gives you (approximately) the number of quarter pound servings the meat yields.

2 8lbs butts yields about 38.4 quarter pound servings.

Just don't forget about shrinkage and the final weight.

    The multiplier assumes 40% shrinkage.

    0.6/.25 = 2.4
