Bottom band creeping up on my XL.

I have tried to adjust the bottom band on my XL several times but it keeps creeping up. Any help would be appreciated.

I had an older model until I moved last year ant the movers broke it. I got the replacement last year

did you tighten the band bolts til they bent. bge doesnt recommend this but get the egg hot for a good hour and tighten them a little more

In the past, there have have been a few issues with the band grooves having a slight inward taper and nothing would stop them from creeping up on the base or down on the dome.
BGE replaced an XL for me many years ago with this problem. No problems since with same band.Thank you,DarianGalveston Texas -

This would be my guess. BGE had a tapering issue with XL's as recent as 1.5-2 years ago. Just went through this myself. Bottom band would creep up and cause a gap in the back that I couldn’t correct. Finally got in contact with my dealer (Ace Hardware) and got a whole XL replacement. Ended up being the taper issue discussed above.

I got a replacement Large Base about a year and a half ago and it was most certainly tapered inward and had this same problem. Duane from the mothership helped me out on a replacement for the replacement....

Been fighting this issue ever since I bought my XL years ago.
I’ve just made it routine to readjust the bands an replace the bolts twice a year.
Just replaced the base last year due to a crack. Same issues, so I don’t think the base is the culprit .
I’ve almost ordered a new band assembly several times , but haven’t done it yet.
Thought I was the only one with issues .
