I say stick with the metal and use parchment paper. Also, the metal peel is more versatile. You can always take the parchment paper out around half-way through the bake, but all of my pizzas have been amazing!

Not the whole peel, just the bottom edge that picks up considerable burnt floor from oven floor after cooking usually 8+ pie batch.
