That'd be a stretch to call those choice.
i like it better when they sell Wagyu accidentally labelled as prime. -
I've read on here a couple of times that meat grades come from the animal overall, not each cut individually. Guessing that is the case here, or that the person working behind the counter doesn't know what they are doing.Large and Small BGECentral, IL

That is true but they grade them at the ribeye. These look awful.saluki2007 said:I've read on here a couple of times that meat grades come from the animal overall, not each cut individually. Grading is done at the factory and not by the person behind the counter. They may have mislabeled them at the store when they cut up a primal cut into steaks. My guess is that they were doing the prime cuts and grabbed a non prime piece and didn’t pay attention and just processed it.saluki2007 said:I've read on here a couple of times that meat grades come from the animal overall, not each cut individually. In cooking, often we implement steps for which we have no explanations other than ‘that’s what everybody else does’ or ‘that’s what I have been told.’ Dare to think for yourself. -

I’d be so bummed if I asked my wife to grab some prime ribeyes while on a Costco run and she came back with that. That there’s crockpot meat.
