Cooking with a Cracked Base

Is it ok while I wait for a warranty replacement? I’m thinking low and slows only for the time being. A lot of egg dealers around here are closed. The ones that aren’t are Ace stores with limited egg knowledge and bigger fish to fry right now.

I have had to replace my XL's base twice and cooked with similar cracks for who knows how long. I would not go nuclear doing pizza though while you wait for a replacement. Normal low and slow should be fine. However, if your egg is on a wood deck, I don't think I would cook with it until the new base is installed.

Thanks. I figured as much. It’s on a over patio so I’m good there. I don’t know how long it’ll take me to get a replacement with everything going on. I’m fairly certain the Egg distributors are considered non-essential in most places.

I cooked a whole summer on a similarly cracked large base. It's fine, but I would heed the advice above and not go nuclear
