Quick Hanger Steak Dinner

thetrim Posts: 11,387
Didn’t have much time, so did a quick marinade in some SnP and some of the Whiskey Barrel Aged Soy

Hot for only a few minutes.  Def a little rare on the inside, but I liked it.  Served w 50/50 low sodium soy and Haku Mizunara as well as some homemade yum yum sauce.

Great plating and styling job right there.  Nice job on that steak, as well.

I love a hanger steak.  It is right there with a ribeye cap.  Fantastic job on that one. I know you had a great meal.

@caliking pretty much. I would've loved to have time for even a modest reverse sear.  That thing spent about 3 mins on the fire. Each side got about 45 secs if that. This was a "gift" from my meat guy when I went to pick up a few other items.  I'll be doing this again, and I'll make sure I have better time management with the next one.

Totally envious of your ability to get hanger steak.
The only time I was able to acquire this great cut, was by driving to Athens for the 2011 Eggfest and "smuggle" it back to Kansas.   :o

That’s a nice looking hangar steak. Don’t think I have ever found one that thick.
  • Wow I would tear that up! Never had a hangar steak but I now will be looking into how I can acquire one. Thanks.
