Haha, cool pic. Isn't that covered under warranty?
I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

If your buddy ever sells his smoker he can say it comes with a Thermapen"The pig is an amazing animal. You feed a pig an apple and it makes bacon. Let's see Michael Phelps do that" - Jim Gaffigan

Hello Darian,Thank you for your email and sharing that post with us. This is where a Silicone Boot would have come in very handy for your Son. If he wants to prevent further damage, or when he buys a new one, he can also purchase a boot here. It will protect it against radiant heat when he leaves it on the fire box or too close to the grill, or burner in the kitchen. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance. We are always happy to help.Best regards,Krista Dyer

IIRC, Thermoworks had a program where you could send in your thermapen to be rebuilt for a very reasonable price. That might be an option?#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.

The same or not the same. When I was a boy, I took a couple of my Dad’s wrenches to work on my bicycle. I left them out in the rain. They got a little rusty and my Dad was HOT! I was never given permission to touch his tools again until much later in life. For the next few years I got a screwdriver set for my birthday and sockets for Christmas...etc.Flint, Michigan

My Dad grew tired of us leaving his tools in the rain, and losing a few of them. He bought himself a new set of tools, gave us the old ones, and told us to never touch his new ones, and we never did. If we needed a tool that we lost, we would get a neighbor kid to go home and get one.Fred19Flintstone said:The same or not the same.
