    I use my thermopen or javelin ...albeit sideways , lots of digital thermometer options out there

    I have a 10 year old maverick that is biting the dust.  I actually am interested in this, looks kind of cool, just might work....

    Agree with smbishop about some amount of "coolness factor".  Have some questions though, sent them off to seller.....
    - typical battery life? - battery rechargeable via USB port? - using Android app, can unit toggle between dome and meat probes?

    I'm not a fan of Bluetooth anything. 
    Bluetooth always seems to frustrate me with all the pairing issues I experience.
    The only reason it exists is that it's a low power communications standard.
