New Large Egg Price?

I just left the ACE Hardware half a mile from my house. That is where I have bought Rockwood for years. They recently expanded to be a Gold rated dealer which makes two dealers within 2 miles. Their price is $899.00 for just a large Egg, extras are extra. Reasonable or night. I will probably deal with the Ceramic Grill Store for other things.

Brother in law priced out a large, nest with handler, mates, and a few other goodies from an ACE in Houston and it came in right around $1500

Sounds like a plan. Craigslist and FB Marketplace are littered with cheap nests and and mates. CGS for the goodies is always a solid choice.Gulfcoastguy said:I just left the ACE Hardware half a mile from my house. That is where I have bought Rockwood for years. I was just at my Ace where I was buying two bags of Rockwood and some post oak. They usually have 4-8 eggs. They had one. A medium. The price one the medium was $699. Just the egg and a nest. I asked if the price was correct.
Dude at the counter: "Oh, those things are really sumpthin'. You should try one sometime. People love 'em."
Again...two bags of Rockwood and the post oak on the counter.
Me; Yeah..I'll think about it.

IIRC, that's what I paid for the large I have now ($899). I got the new nest with it and that's it. I already had an order from CGS here before the egg was delivered. I wasn't going to try to get it up on my deck alone. Nor try to wrangle up some help to get it into position. Worth the few dollars to get them to put it together and deliver it.

I got my large after a local eggfest. Saved more than a few bucks. Would definitely recommend going that route if the opportunity presents itself.Stillwater, MN

They just had one of each size on display. They had just about every accessory that BGE puts out . I am interested in getting the Cuni cart fro CGS when I do purchase. It has locking casters and the wings included for about what Egg Mates and a regular nest would cost. I am not so sure about the new daisy wheel replacement and am disappointed that they have the same old gasket. After I file taxes I will probably upgrade.

That would be nice but we don’t have a local Eggfest any more. We did have one for 3 years but the dealer went toes up in the 2008 crash.StillH2OEgger said:I got my large after a local eggfest. Sounds like you need to get in tight with that Ace dealer and help him plan an EggFest. Even if it's just a couple eggs going the first yearGulfcoastguy said:

We have a platinum dealer here, great place. Sold me a LG, nest with old style handler, mates and conveggtor for 20 % off. Actually less since I had credit for a cookbook return. Great place favorite store and the best Eggfest around.

@dmchicago just curious whether you got the 50% compassion warranty discount, assuming you're the original owner.
