I don't understand how water got your egg so blurry, unless that pic is an egg at the bottom of a lake.
thats what pbucket does when they hold your pics hostage and demand you pay them. pretty much a quarter inch thick outer shell on most of the base popped off from the ceramics sucking in water one winter and freezing

@The_Buffalo , what separates the Kick Ash Basket from big green egg’s version?  I will buy one if you can justify the extra cost and upgrade, if there is an “upgrade” reason.  What makes your version of a small business owner’s invention better?  And way more expensive?

The KAB is great quality and works like a champ.  The increased airflow is nice.  BGE is a little late to the party and the design most likely built for profit in the first place and not to solve a BGE user need; KAB stepped up and solved that need.  My money and vote goes to KAB and KAB Can.  ✌️
The problem with a problem is that you don't know it's a problem until it's a problem, and that is a big problem.

From what was in the OP, the BGE version costs more than the KAB. The KAB is a great product (had one in my Medium BGE, and bought one for the large before I even had the large on my deck).
I also have zero issues using the KAB for all temperature range cooking on the BGE. From low and slow to hot grilling.
I'm thinking about getting one of the dividers for the KAB in the coming months. It all depends on if I find I actually NEED one. Maybe if I get a rotisserie for my BGE, I'll get one (or two) dividers. I'll probably contact KAB to find out which ones to get for such cooking. Or I'll figure out something else to shift the fire from under whatever is rotating.
IMO, BGE saw how successful the KAB product has been and has been kicking themselves over NOT providing something like that years ago. Sort of how they're trying to get into the space that Smokeware caps have. Sorry, BGE, but I ordered a new Smokeware cap at the same time I ordered the KAB (and Woo ring) for the new large egg.
Large BGE with CGS Woo Ring, stone with stainless pan, Smokeware chimney cap, Kick Ash basket and Kick Ash can.

Well said.  I have the divider.
