Liking this recipe. Had a dry Rosé from the Rhine region in Germany.
Certainly a very worthy pairing. It is a total “Find it. Buy it” recommendation
The Germans do know pork, and they can make a great wine to pair with it. I am telling you."Knowledge is Good" - Emil Faber

here is my favourite recipe for white bean and chicken. I use half and half and half the cream cheese to make it a little less rich

These all look great. WBCC is a favorite around here. We don’t use milk/cream though; if I recall correctly, we use chicken stock and mix in Monterey Jack cheese. It’s really good.DFW - 1 LGBE & Happy to Adopt More...

I frankly didn’t know that the Germans were into Rose too. Any particular grape that works well in a rise in your opinion (German varietals)?DFW - 1 LGBE & Happy to Adopt More...

Cooler weather grapes.....Spatburgunder is the the German name for burgundy type grapes, which is the same as pinot noir. The Rose' from pinot noir has long been one of our favorites, the German wine I have recommended is pinot noir Rose'
Others are Riesling which can be fruity sweet or dry and rich. I have a bottle of a dry Riesling from Austria, that I think is one of the best bottles of wine I have ever had from from that area in Europe and one of the best whites I have had overall.
Pinot Gris, Silvander and Pinot Blanc all produce very nice wines, when made in certain styles, but often they get made into semisweet wines, which I think is just one step above Mountain Dew, like Leibfraumilch and others. (sorry, subjective comment)
Great German Whites are documented back to the 14th and 15th centuries, and likely brought with the Romans."Knowledge is Good" - Emil Faber

Thanks @YukonRon - I wasn’t aware that Spatburgunder was the equivalent of Pinot noir here in the states (obviously with different terroir).I was particularly interested in which grapes made for good rosés, but thanks for the other info as well! I’m a much bigger fan of dry wines, I’ve had a few good dry Rieslings too; Is the Pinot Grigio grape native to Germany as well?DFW - 1 LGBE & Happy to Adopt More...

It can be grown there, sure. My two favorite grapes for Rose' are pinot noir and Grenache. Either of those two will be a win for you."Knowledge is Good" - Emil Faber

Thank you. It freezes real well and adding whatever you want really impacts the flavor profile but not the texture, which I like.....thetrim said:Awesome post Ron.
