I got the idea for this video after visiting my local Egg retailer. I was looking at a Small and when opening it, it wasn’t smooth, had a hitch motion. On closer examination I notice during the build they never tighten most of the bolts ( hand tightened). I mentioned it to JD the egg expert, upon my next visit I check and the top opened nice and smooth - he was happy I noticed it...Northern New Jersey

I checked mine ONCE, after about 8 years. They were tight. I've now had that egg for TEN YEARS. Haven't checked again.
I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Me neither. Of course I attribute my tightness to the benefit from double-nutting. Before some scoff or laugh double-nutting is after the bolts have bent I run a second nut up against the first ones.Carolina Q said:I checked mine ONCE, after about 8 years. They were tight. While disassembling my XL for transport I found out a safety feature. If you setup your gasket such that it is a bit proud on the outer diameter, it will stop the lid from sliding out of a band that is only loose. You have to almost completely loosen the band to get the lid off.

The wife has been telling me for years that the best way to keep things tight down there is to double nut.RRP said:
