XXL and Holding Temp

OK, started some ribs about 1200 yesterday.  After 30-40 minutes prep held at 250 for five hours.  Thought I shut it down, but I got the bottom vent closed and the daisy wheel just the barest crack open.  When to clean up at 1430 and it is sitting at 180, jut cranking along.  Can't see how much lump was used, the grid and PS are too heavy to casually lift and look.

Well, "spa-Peggy" is kind of like spaghetti. I'm not sure what Peggy does different, if anything. But it's the one dish she's kind of made her own.

Wow! So it has basically been running for 26 1/2 hours?

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

A comment. Thought I had shut it down last night, but left a sliver of the daisy wheel open.  I has been holding a low temp unattended for over 24 hours.

But if I were to intentionally try that, I wouldn't be able to hold that low temp for that long!   :)

That's awesome.  Does that thing take 40 pounds of lump?

Ahhh. I had the time line wrong. That's pretty amazing. As @kl8ton said though, just try doing that sometime and see what happens  :)

If the firebox is empty it will take a whole bag of lump.

That thing sounds like the perfect machine to do the @lousubcab annual chili pepper cook down.  Lol.  I got lucky when I tried it on the large and did 27hrs at 180°.   No way it would’ve held those temps if it was something i actually cared about.

I keep an XL kick ash basket in mine. I fill it just like an XL. As crazy as it sounds, it doesn’t seem to consume a lot more lump than the XL. But I’ve only run it four times.
