It could be cement board. That is a moot point though seeing as it is next to a glass door. Looks close to the soffit on the right side, sparks into the insulation upstairs?

So nobody noticed the Ceramic cap on top of the daisy cap?

I posted it for two reasons, didn't mention them because I thought they are obvious, I'm sure most (if not all) folks did not mention for the same reason.
1) ceramic cap on top of DFMT
2) no air gap between egg bottom and pavercanuckland -
Looks like it's sold, in less than a day. Asking price was 900 loonies, decent price for this part of GWN.canuckland

I have claimed a fire ring and box so far. The original dealer i bought from no longer carries BGE, but i phoned the local ACE and they took care of it. Of course i went back to pick it up, but they were more than happy to provide warranty as it was registered. Same thing with a friend of mine when his base cracked
