its getting that time of the year again and it’s delicious. Capped and cored the jalapeños because my family doesn’t like much heat. Took it 20-30 minutes at 450.

Looks great! I like that consistency for regular salsa rojo like that. Food processor or blender?

So many ways to get there and yours looks great. Nailed it. Congrats.

Our Farmer's Market opened last Saturday, but no decent tomatoes yet at this latitude. Your pics have me drooling.
Have to ask you a question: how do you so neatly core your jalapeños? I want to learn that trick!"Dumplings are just noodles that have already eaten" - Jon Kung

Processor but mines small so I have to do half and half.Cornholio said:Looks great! I like that consistency for regular salsa rojo like that. Food processor or blender?Dyersburg, TN -
I use one of these. Cap it, twist it down until the core spins with the tool.Botch said:Our Farmer's Market opened last Saturday, but no decent tomatoes yet at this latitude. Your pics have me drooling.

@leemschu As you note, great for coring peppers for any follow-on stuffing you want to use. Been using for many years. Well-played to alert the forum.

That looks really good!Is there a recipe you followed or is it one of your own making?NC - LBGE

I always just do it to taste. For 1 batch I do about 10 tomato’s, 1 onion, 2-3 jalapeños, and 3 cloves of garlic. I’ll add about 2 T of sugar, 1 T salt, 2 tsp cumin and some lemon juice.wardo said:That looks really good!Is there a recipe you followed or is it one of your own making?Dyersburg, TN -
It’s also a lot better the next day. So don’t over season it when you make it.Dyersburg, TN

I made some Monday night, I used half tomatoes and half tomatillos. No food processor, so I used the blender. I wish it was a little chunkier, but still great for a first attempt.Franklin, TN

I just pulse mine a few times until it’s how I want it.KGilma2018 said:I made some Monday night, I used half tomatoes and half tomatillos. No food processor, so I used the blender. I wish it was a little chunkier, but still great for a first attempt.Dyersburg, TN -
I just held it down a little too long. When I let off it was already thin. Next time will be better.leemschu said:
