Back to the Egg after a 7 month hiatus

I have been MIA for some time now (LIFE). I just wanted to say THANK YOU again to the guys who messaged me privately to be sure I was OK. I am by the way all good just crazy busy. You know who you are and thank you. Just goes to show you what kind of community this really is. People I never met concerned for my well being. Anyway now that the sensitive crap is out of the way, let's talk about my easing back into the egg.

As I said before I have been working everyday since Christmas and today is my first day off and wanted to EGG, little did I know that my wife invited a few friends over for dinner, hot tubbing, and of course drinks by the fire. This means easing back into the egg is going to have more critics than I was ready for. Last night I decided to do a pork shoulder being you cant really screw that up (well lets see if that is true). I overslept (it is my first day off) and only lit the egg at 8:15. I was looking everywhere for my BGE platesetter only to remember that I broke it a few cooks back (ouch I had to relive that pain again). I had a PS for CGS and used that I put a drip pan and then the butt. I went fat side up no other reason than that is how I had it wrapped in the tray.

Im going turbo because I overslept!! I have the egg stabilized at 300 top grate 325 dome, Im using RW and have some apple chunks mixed in. I plan on going naked all the way no spraying (lets see if the stall time changes the game plan). Dinner is suppose to be at 6:00 but that is not a hard time I can push it back a hour or so if need be. I plan on bringing butt to around 200 (depends when she probes like buttah) then let it rest (FTC) for at least an hour. Im doing basic sides a little mac and cheese and corn on the cob. I have some Buffalo skirt steaks that I might decide to through on last minute as either an app or a late night snack.
