OT speaker wiring

Kinda weird place to ask, but im sure a lot of you guys have speakers in your egging area. Any way i got a couple outdoor speakers for nothing and set them up in my egging area. I wired them in series with a set of speakers on the other side of the wall in my garage. Everything works well but i would like to be able to shut off the outside speakers if im working in the garage especially late at night. Any ideas on how to wire a switch so i can turn the outside off while leaving the inside ones on while they are wired in series? Can you even just break one wire to shut a speaker off? or do you have to break the positive and negative?
