I love my homemade bacon too, but there is a local butcher who makes it just about as good and I'm lazy.

Another point is that Jess Pryles recipe uses a teaspoon of Prague #1 to 3 pounds of belly. I've always used just half that amount because when I use that much it starts tasting more like ham than bacon.
