OT -- April Showers?
Woke up to a foot of snow this morning. Tried to clear a quick path for our little guy before trudging off to work. It is Alaska...
I wondered why the satellite reception was non-existent before looking outside.

I probably could have made it clearer that all the winter snow had melted already, so this is completely fresh snow.

Had something similar this past Sunday. Mid 50s Friday and Saturday. 4 inches of snow Sunday. Mid 50s on Monday. 78 yesterday and today. Only in central IL.

Well, I am a little embarrassed and humbled to admit that I got home from work to find my driveway clean, back porch and deck area clean and dinner warming up. All this from my wife who retired a few years back ahead of me. It's raining now so she did great by jumping on it before it before it had a chance to become a slushy mess. Not expected but sure appreciated.

the snow bank melting is most of the mud problem. the town plows the driveway while plowing the road so it gets big with the big plow/sanders in the yard. once the bank melts i get the drainage back. the good and the bad, i dont touch the driveway in the winter yet its plowed big enough to turn the biggest plow trucks around and i have access to the garages, the bad, april is mud a half mile to the main road

I see. I used to live in Valdez, AK. They used to pile snow in empty lots that they sometimes rented from private parties. They would use chippers in the spring in an attempt to get the piles to melt by the end of May. Lots of run off.
