Eggspander Question

I expect to buy an XL BGE soon. The eggspander looks like it would be helpful but I’ve not used one. I know KJ advertises heavily about divide and conquer system, but not sure if multi height cooking / half disc ceramic indirect cooking is just a marketing gimmick or if it is a useful tool (besides adding additional space). BGE has been so great with warranties I am sticking with them

If you have an eggspander any feedback would be appreciated. Like / dislike, 2piece system vs 5 piece / etc.. If you really like it, let me know how you use it, what cooks. If you have an adjustable rig or similar set up from CGS instead, same question. Thanks everyone!

I have the adjustable rig for my large. I got it as a present for myself after I got a performance bonus at work. I was skeptical that it would be that good. It is way better than I thought. I’ve been using it about 2 months now. Very easy to use. Adds a lot of versatility. I love the easy option to add smaller wood chunks in without touching or moving anything. I also feel (no proof of this) that it creates a much healthier environment for a fire. I get much more good smoke and very little bad smoke. I use the cheapest lump I can find too. I used the egg with the standard set up for 2 years. The adjustable rig upgrade is well worth it. I’d recommend it to anyone. I’d recommend the CGS version over the BGE version hands down. If the BGE version floats your boat, then go for it.
