Athens EggFest April 13, 2019
It is held at the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center in Athens, Texas. The aquariums here with all the fresh water fish of Texas, the hatcheries tour and the tram tour out back are all great activities to experience while at the EggFest. Kids can also fish in the two ponds up front.
If you have always wanted to cook at Big Green Egg EggFest this would be the one to cook at.
Or if you just want to attend and taste some amazing food cooked on the Big Green Egg you should come see us.
It's an easy drive from the DFW area and East Texas.

The Best Western usually. Royal Mountain Inn in Athens TX. Might be making the fest, I can be nearby in Mabank. Need to decide if I make the trip from Austin on Friday, and I'd like to see the fest!
Looks like some inclement weather Saturday AM. I've been watching the weather, and now the chances are 100% Sat AM. They usually put in a hedge and say 70%, so 100% this early is something. Any news from the fest? I can't see anything on the website.

Plan B cook in Athens today. Shelly and I are hanging out with Richard, Charlotte, Bruce, Kelley, William, Ella and Savannah and cooking up some great food at the RV Park. What an incredible day! Good food and great friends!

I feel bad for all the people who were scheduled to cook. They spent a lot of time and $$$ to prepare for the event. The weather is pretty nasty in that area today so it was best to cancel. Hope to attend next year.

It just now started to rain with a bit of fury! Then should settle down and rain for a couple of hours. Then we will cook dinner at the RV park with Richard and Charlotte along with Kelley and Bruce. Can’t wait till we cook our Dutch oven breakfast in the morning!
