Guys he was just asking and commenting about a BGE accessory on the BGE sponsored forum...   settle down.  Yes, CGS is the best but some people dont know about it until after they bought their egg and accessories at their dealer.  Why harass the guy for a simple question?
    Thanx Gooodogs!

Sounds like some want to start a fight....that's not my purpose...but can say...as a consumer...if I was to buy anything....I would buy the product APPROVED by the manufacturer.
This post seemed to discredit Tom @ CGS for inventing the very product that BGE has stolen the design and more than likely outsourcing production to a cheaper manufacturer using junk materials. Very sucky move IMHO.

You wanna bleed green that’s up to you.  Green is my color of grills too but @tjv equipment is in all 3 off my eggs.

Y'all can have your favorites...I always buy what I want...and it was never intended to discredit someone in here...some of you need to grow up. CGS isn't faithful To one product either...and if the truth be known...he capatilized on a great product...some of you did nothing but a disservice to CGS. Shame on you! Go back to school & learn how to read! The simple question again!...do we even need to buy the plate setter with all the options out there! I thought this was a Big Green Egg site? Not a CGS site!

Geez....lets start over....didn't want to start WW3....I don't care who invented what....I'm trying to figure out if I go with the EGGSPANDER....or whatever something similar with the diffuser half plates...is it necessary to get the plate setter at all? Thanx for the welcome back! 😆
never had a platesetter in almost 20 years, no reason for it with raised grids, pizza stones, half moons etc. its just a better system nowadays

oh, and tom listened to the needs of eggers, built his original products, gave some away to get feedback and a better feel for what was needed  to make kamado cooking better and easier.  then 15 or so years later bge saw that there was money in it ;)

Too bad Tom can't speak up for himself on here instead of all this speculation...look at all the advertisement he just got...on the BGE site....I wished some of you could quit misunderstanding my original question....and take the corncob out of your arse. Go ahead...chickenshit flag again. I came on this Big Green Egg site for help & I get attacked because of misinterpretation? I think it says BIG GREEN EGG at the top?!

I wondered why it was called woo - thanks for the education.  I’m guessing the ps in pswoo comes from plate setter??

Yes, the PSwoo was designed because so many Eggheads wanted an easier way to use and expand the use of their Plate Setter.

What's more of a fun subject is what everybody used as heat deflector before the plate setter came around.  I'd have to look back, but I'm thinking it was around 2000 when it made its debut.  That's 25 years of BGE'ing with homemade heat deflectors!!

I used three fire bricks on the main grate and the grate off my Weber elevated using two more fire bricks on their sides for a while.

Your original question was fine. This is where you f'cked up when you were given a better option. That's what rustled all these feathers; your uneducated response

Cooking on the BGE has come a long way in the short time I have been Egging.
Seems like my first Eggfest, on the lake in Austin, Texas, only had 6-8 Eggs and most of the cooks were just wings. I love wings, don't get me wrong, but alot of people at Eggfest now walk right past wings because the other stuff is just over the top crazy good and unique to non eggheads.
This first Eggfest was also where I met Tom and many other Southern Egghead Legends. Tom gave me my first accessory for my XL. A hand bent, hand welded Woo Ring. Very cool since I had only interacted with him a couple times on the forum. So many of this old group of Eggers are still family to us.
My nephew lives very close to you. Hope to visit with you one day. Thanks for all the past deals.

Yep, it was a BBQ grill and wing cooker way back when.  All the literature always had people cooking with the lid open.  Everybody had to find a way to make it into a smoker.  The lag bolts with the drip pan.  Then there were some angle iron clips a guy was making that slid on the outside of the fire ring.  Coffee cans to keep the rain out of top.

Send your nephew over for a BGE!!  I have two XL's left and about 8 MM's.  Need to make some room for the new KJ Gen III's whenever they start shipping.
