First Egg and First Table Build

Picked up my first egg at a local charity auction, my wife wanted a table instead of a stand. I took a few plans from different tables and came up with this. Before I sealed the wood, I grabbed my BBQ lighter and heat treated the pine. made the grain really pop.

Welcome. Make sure you register your egg with BGE corporate so your warranty will be valid. Down the road you will at least need a replacement firebox. No matter how we acquire an egg, it needs to be registered, but with a receipt, I think we may still be covered without registering, but maybe not in a case such as yours.

Tried to move the Table today and the Egg shifted. Had to rectify the problem by framing the pavers.. Also, didn't like seeing my BBQ tools in the box on the bottom shelf. Framed one side in so its hidden

very nice, if you want to ditch the pavers its not going to hurt you at all, the air gap from the table nest is ample protection.

The doubled 2x4 legs with inserted panel is also a nice touch.....
Egg 'shifting'? Enough torsional strength in new build? -
Yes, its plenty strong enough. Just a small down grade from where I store the Table. As in down hill. I keep it close to my outdoor putting green and chipping area, rest of my outdoor space falls about 12 feet. Just slid enough to almost touch the outside of the radius cut on the table..
