If I had $500 burning a hole in my pocket, there’s no way I’d be headed to Restaurant Depot. A couple of prime grade subprimals from Costco and a SRF Black brisket would a much better option in my opinion.

@DoubleEgger I don't disagree with your choices, but I don't have a Costco membership (nor do I want one) and Sam's Club doesn't have the selection worthy to make a trip. SRF Black is great, but I have 2 in the freezer already, can't justify a third. Lastly, I plan to make Pastrami on a Stick (Pastarmi Ribs) in a week, so I'm already headed to RD for those.

I’ve been less than impressed with the RD meats locally. I went to RD at least a half dozen times in a row looking for a decent brisket. I left empty handed each time. Probably 30 briskets to choose from and every one is stiff as board with razor thin flats. I got pissed and started buying SRF and haven’t looked back. I’d rather pay twice as much and eat it half as often. The last two times I bought pork butt there, I found chunks of solid fat bigger than my fist. Ok for sausage, not ok for pulled pork.RedSkip said:@DoubleEgger I don't disagree with your choices, but I don't have a Costco membership (nor do I want one) and Sam's Club doesn't have the selection worthy to make a trip.
