Smoking pork butt day before party

I plan on smoking a pork butt the day before a party. My question is should I leave the butt whole and shred the day of the party?

I would shred it and then reheat in crock-pot or sous vide with a little apple juice. Trying to pull it cold as one mass is a bad idea~ John - Formerly known as ColtsFan - https://www.instagram.com/hoosier_egger

I don't have a sous or crock pot. I'm thinking about sealing the pork in a food saver and slow boiling for warm up.ColtsFan said:I would shred it and then reheat in crock-pot or sous vide with a little apple juice. Trying to pull it cold as one mass is a bad idea -
That is one of the best ways to reheat510BG said:

Pull and make an au jus from the drippings in foil pan
next day put the pork in a foil pan, pour the au jus over and put back on the egg to smoke and warm up for the guest -
I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Your plan will work fine, I just did some that way today, it really is the way to go. A zip-lock bag will work fine too, just get as much air out as possible.Tampa Bay, Florida

I like taking a large skillet and heating it up in the pan with BBQ sauce. The sauce keeps it from drying out but the pan heats it nicely.
