I try and mix up my tailgating grub for every game, being a Gator Season Tix holder is hard this year, and decided to go with some smoked nachos. Turned out awesome!!!! Cooked down some chorizo in the cast iron then added layers of chips, cheese veggies, and more sausage.

Those look good. When I’ve tried nachos on the Egg, I’ve found the nachos absorb humidity and lose their crunch - maybe because the Egg is so good at retaining moisture. Hope this was not your experience.

Removed some Chorizo form the casing and cooked them down in a skillet on my Akorn Jr, removed when done and cut up some hot sausage, cooked them and removed when finished. Placed a layer of tortilla chips in the skillet and started adding toppings then more chips and toppings for about 3 layers. Placed back in the Akorn Jr at around 300, indirect with a small chunk of apple wood, and removed once all the cheese was melted and some of the chips had a bit of char on them around 25-30 minutes. Toppings were:drumdudeguy said:Please post the recipe for this!

Just guessing but I would bet they weren't in there long enough to get soggy.GrateEggspectations said:Those look good.
