Mini-Max Ash Basket Options

I'm loving my new Mini-Max and I’m ready to start taking it on trips. I’ve heard it’s easier to cool the egg after a cook so I can pack it up and move on quicker if you remove the ash/coal but I can’t justify $65 on a KAB. Any other options? Is the KAB really worth it?

Well, Sir...ONLY you can make that final decision! BUT -iffin I were you I wouldn't even think twice before ordering one!Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

I take mine on the road frequently, for camping, tailgating, and parties. I have the KAB, and, I am sure you will enjoy your investment, should you make one.
$65.00, one time is worth it. You will get years of results, other than easy to cool down before packing.

Less than a Mini Max kick ash basket, easier to carry, cooking space of a large egg, easy to cool down:

I do enjoy the kick ash basket for my mini max and recommend it, but if you are looking for portability, the Weber JJ will do more for you than a KAB. I own two, phenomenal grills. Just another option, but you wont go wrong with the KAB. -
Get a mm basket, then a woo. Best two upgrades you can make.

Sounds like I won’t regret making the purchase. I’ll wait until Black Friday, they might go on sale.Atlanta, GA

Most likely they'll have a discount code on Black Friday.

I would highly recommend KAB I have them in all of my eggs and there great worth the money it also opens up the air flow in the bottom

Another strong vote for KAB--- it's great in my mm and medium!Sarasota Fl. and Lake Toxaway N.C. (and Novembers on the island of Kauai) (and April in France.... Don't hate on me for that)

I have the KAB in the XL and L but not in the MM. I should get one and will get one one of these days.

Agree 100%. Skip the SS grid extender as the MM is not great at two levels despite my attempts, much better performance with the KAB and Woo.stlcharcoal said:Get a mm basket, then a woo. Best two upgrades you can make.
Also skip the spider IMO as it doesn’t work with the basket and woo well. Not enough clearance for the benefits you get on a larger egg
