My lid will not open all the way or close all the way. What is wrong with it and how do I fix it?

Just google “Big Green Egg kid won’t close” you’ll have a plethora of different discussions, might be a little trial and error to hone in on the issue though. -
First thing I’d do is loosen and realign and tighten the bands, could just be out of whack. If anything you’ll just be doing normal maintenance since bands should be checked here and there (trust me, lost a lid before).

I think one of the bolts on your hinge joint is frozen. Spray the hinge joints down good with WD40. Then loosen the hinge bolts and spray again. Let sit over night.Xl bge ,LG bge, two 4' crusher cone fire pits. Weber Genisis gasser and

I can tell by the pics.....bolts are froze up. Use some PB Blaster or wd40.frazzdaddy said:I think one of the bolts on your hinge joint is frozen. Spray the hinge joints down good with WD40. Then loosen the hinge bolts and spray again. Let sit over night. -
From the pictures you posted then I firmly believe your planes are out of whack!
Most all times that issue is NOT the fault of your new gasket!
The normal, correction which I always suggest is to leave your dome closed and then loosen the nuts on the bolts of bands. Once then tension is released then apply pressure uniformly to your dome forcing the dome down onto your base. Once down tighten the nuts.

Hinge joints were the problem. Here it is after the adjustment.
