Nice upgrade and project. Reason for the above question about the nest is that an air-gap below the BGE is a great insulator. There have been threads here where a slab only table has structurally failed during a cook and led to a fire outside the confines of the BGE. FWIW-

@Bigredegger......get an air gap under there do you dont light the table on fire. Concrete conducts the heat, it doesn't insulated it from the table.Sandtree said:
