Just broke my platesetter. Local BGE dealer has none in stock and suggests Amazon.
Does this group agree or is there something else I should consider?
thanks.

The Adjustable Rig Combo is a great alternative as others have suggested. I have it as will as the platesetter and a PSWoo. I love options.
But shouldn't the platesetter be covered under warranty?Marshall in Beautiful Fruit Cove, FL.

Where did it break? If it's just a leg, cut the other two off and just a grid raiser from smokeware, or a Woo from CGS.
If it broke down the middle or near it, save the good half for a half stone.
Angle grinder with a ceramic cutter wheel, or if you have a buddy with a tile saw. Either will turn that broken ps into something useful. -
If the plate setter is less then 3 years old your dealer should replace it. I am on my third or forth one, but now mine is our of warranty.
BGE also is selling these now, like CGS. I am looking into these if my PS brakes. You could probably use your broken PS with this system.

Sorry my earlier response was just a blurb and link, was putting my infant to bed. As others have pointed out there are other options, some compatible with the plate setter if you replace it like the Woo from CGS. The link below gives an overview of the different systems from them. It all depends on your cooking styles and what would work best for you if you decide to go this route. Some people have all the different systems while others are just fine with a basic plate setter setup.
I haven’t used my plate setter since buying the AR R&B combo since the oval stone serves as one and coveres front to back inside the egg which is good for rib slabs (no open direct heat other than the sides). I suggest reading through the different systems, check out the pictures and videos.
Also as mentioned already, keep the broken plate setter and try to reuse it. Even cutting little squares to raise drip pans etc will be good use of it.

Of the two systems discussed on this post what's the preferred one? I looks like the price point on both is the same. I look forward to y'all comments.Auburn, Alabama

Good luck trying to get support from BGE HQ

I agree, I have not even thought about the platesetter since I bought and started using the Adjustable Rig.Tampa Bay, Florida

+1 on anything from Ceramic Grill Store. Had I known about them prior to my initial purchase I would have skipped the platesetter.Large Big Green Egg in a nest. North Shore of Boston.

Yeah, I skipped it when I bought my MiniMax. I like the Woo and a stone better than the platesetter.
I have bot the PSWoo and the AR for my large but the PSWoo gets used twice as much as the AR as I don't do that many large cooks with multiple pieces of protein.Marshall in Beautiful Fruit Cove, FL.
