Moisture in the Smokeware dial?!

greetings friends,

brand new thermo. Moisture in the dial. I’m getting ready to email the support   My guess is it’s been so rainy and humid here - but my egg is usually covered..

  • Mine does it too when it’s rained and I’m cooking above 200. It still reads perfectly. Eventually the dry heat will make it dissipate.

No need to swarm. Cook on!

It should dry out and be fine. Covering your eggs, especially if it's been raining and more humid lately, could be the reason.

+1. I have to tap the thermo at least once if anywhere below 450F. I can see that the “tail” of the pointer is what is causing the sticking. Sometimes when I tap it, the temp reading goes up as much as 45F.

Toss it in the egg during cool down. Clears it up.

I thought about that but it gets hot just being in its  normal hole...

    Wow.  That’s ridiculous.

My Smokeware crapped out after a high heat cook. Only Tel Tru moving forward.
