Dang, sorry to hear that. Was it a popcorn ceiling you wanted to get rid of anyway? Hope you get the roof and ceiling finished today.

All of the ceilings are popcorn, it is a ranch built in 1972. Decorning isn't my highest priority. It is the second day in a row of rain outs and that is why I haven't posted any pics.

Glad the kid was OK. Oh, and after the roof is done you won't be seeing those spots on your ceiling anymore. It is a great feeling believe me. The metal roof has provided us 16 years of peace of mind so far and pretty much erased all the bad memories of incompetent roofers we managed to hire, twice. Hope you have clear weather tomorrow.

I have a metal roof.....it looks just like a cross between architectural and shake shingles.  The stamped panels are about 4 feet long and two feet high and overlap each other.  They just went over my existing roof.  Supposed to last 50 yrs and it was only an extra 3-4 grand to do the metal over the asphalt.  I was only out of pocket about $6000 for it.
One thing that I have been wondering is how they do the roof vent?

Well they did show up and finish the wood and peel and stick on the back half of the house.

@Gulfcoastguy - venting depends on your roof type. I have 3 gable ends, one of which has a thermostatically controlled fan to exhaust heat and humidity to the outside. Glad they got your underlayment done and hope the roofers get a break from the rain.

  • Hi,

Can anyone recommend a good reliable roofer? I don’t think it’s a major job, probably just a missing tile or some flashing that needs looking at.

    Thanks very much!
