Dizzy pig VS Homemade on Pork Butt

greetings friends,
After getting my OWN butt shredded on the golf course, brandi and I are having the golf families over for some pulled pork, and her awesome beans and veggie sides. I figured, what a better opportunity, than to experiment on our friends?!
Same simple setup - frozen butt slathered in cheap yellow mustard and patted down... one with my signature proprietary never fail me rub. The other with some dizzy pig I picked up.
They were really awesome to support the NC butt blast 2018, so I bought their stuff when I went to my local dealer. SEE HOW THAT WORKS?!
Anyway, if you don’t know me by now, get ready for one million pics in this thread..

Ok so let me get this right. You are putting the butts on completely rock hard frozen? I've never tried this.

Damien’s rub first. There were other sides. Just - after a low and slow I’m not eager to stuff my face. Just gimme the meats!!

Then the DP. The butt wasn’t as juicy. We had a ridiculous stall, and I upped the temp to push through to get these nice people fed. That, and I only FTCed for like, twenty minutes, instead of hours like I unusually do.
Verdict?
BOTH were great.
I like mine. I think that’s why it’s mine! Maybe if I added some brown sugar to the DP... I dunno.. it just didn’t have the brown I like as much. Oh - and no smoke ring, whereas mine did. Not that that matters to people, I guess...

What a great day/evening and banquet. Those butts look perfect. Congrats.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

Cut a crisscross scored over the fat cap.
Slather in cheap yelloe mustard.
Apply generous rub.
Put in egg.
you obviously will have to wait a bit to get a meat probe in there. But - we but as much as we can when butt goes on sale and keep it in th deep freeze. Sure saves a lot of work to try and make room in the fridge for thawing. Especially since we normally do two or three at a time.Large BGE and Medium BGE
