Excessive Ash Build Up

Seems like I'm getting a lot of ash build up. Wondering if it could be my gasket going bad and not extinguishing the fire fast enough, and is burning up the lump. Could it be anything else obvious?

Have you calibrated your dome thermometer? also the brand of lump MAY be a factor.Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time
