I own and run a machinery business. My aim is generally to employ competent people so I can do less work.  We have an autistic son who takes up a lot of our time, so work is a secondary occupation.

    Pension.... the good ol’ days
I have heard that before. Usually by someone who was paid 30% more for doing the same job and didn’t know that we contributed 9% of our salary to fund the pension. Those jobs exist, it took them a year and a half to find a trainee to eventually replace me. Oh and I also contributed to social security and a deferred compensation 453C account. As I recall we did go from 2002 to 2012 with one $1,500.00 a year raise.

Pension as implemented were legal Ponzi schemes.  Another way for Baby Boomers to screw the next generation.

Not sure what you mean  :) if your referring to crops, it is early here or just right depending on how you look at it. Currently drier now that it was all last spring, I didn’t get my corn in till the middle of June last year.
The farther south you go, obviously the earlier they plant.
